Planning a memorial tribute is something most people have never done before. Whether you're wondering about photographs, music, timing or simply where to begin, we're here to guide you through the process.

From photos and music to timing, delivery and support, we make the process feel simpler and more manageable.

Getting started

  • It’s completely understandable to feel unsure where to begin.

    Planning a funeral often means making many decisions in a short period of time, and the slideshow can feel like one more thing to organise.

    You don't need to have everything ready before contacting us. Simply let us know the service date and a little about the person you're remembering.

    We'll guide you through what we need and when we need it, one step at a time.

  • We've designed the process to be as simple and clear as possible.

    1. Get in touch and tell us about the service and the person you're remembering.
    2. Choose your collection and, once your booking is confirmed, we'll guide you through providing your photographs, music and memories.
    3. We'll create your funeral slideshow and send you a preview to review.
    4. Review your preview and submit any requested changes as part of your included revision round. We'll then prepare the final slideshow ready for the service.

    We'll keep you informed throughout the process, so you'll always know what happens next.

  • We recommend getting in touch at least 7 days before the service whenever possible.

    This allows time to receive your photographs, music and information, create your slideshow carefully and complete any included revisions.

    If the service is less than 7 days away, please still get in touch and we'll check our availability.

    Bookings with less than 4 days' notice may not be possible. Where capacity allows, Priority Delivery may be available for urgent requests.

  • No. You can contact us before you've gathered all of your photographs or chosen your music.

    Getting in touch early gives us more time to guide you and confirm whether we can complete your slideshow before the service.

    We'll let you know exactly what we need and when we need it.

  • Absolutely. Most families we work with have never organised a funeral slideshow before.

    We'll explain each step clearly and guide you through choosing and providing your photographs, music and memories.

    Our aim is to make the process feel calm, clear and manageable during what can be a very emotional time.

  • Many families initially consider creating the funeral slideshow themselves.

    As the service approaches, however, gathering photographs, choosing music, arranging everything and creating the slideshow can take more time than expected.

    Drift & Flow takes care of the creative and technical work, bringing your photographs, music and memories together into a thoughtfully designed tribute.

    This gives you one less thing to organise while you're preparing for the service.Many families begin with the intention of creating the funeral slideshow themselves.

    As the funeral approaches, however, they often discover they simply don't have the time or emotional energy to bring everything together while also supporting family, organising the service and managing everything else that needs their attention.

    Drift & Flow takes care of the creative work, transforming your photographs, music and memories into a professionally designed funeral slideshow that reflects the person being remembered.

Choosing the right collection

  • Every family remembers someone differently, which is why we've created three funeral slideshow collections.

    Soft Drift is ideal for families wanting something simple, elegant and beautifully understated, with up to 30 photographs.

    Reflections adds more personal storytelling, with up to 60 photographs, memory cards and written reflections woven throughout the slideshow.

    Evermore is our most personalised collection, with up to 80 photographs, family memories, favourite sayings and familiar phrases, and the option to include a short voice recording.

    If you're unsure which collection is right for you, we're happy to help you choose based on what you'd like included.

  • Absolutely. You don't need to decide before contacting us.

    Tell us a little about what you would like the tribute to include and we'll help you choose the most suitable collection.

    We'll consider things such as:

    • how many photographs you have
    • whether you'd like written memories or storytelling included
    • whether you'd like to preserve favourite sayings or family stories
    • your timeframe
    • your budget

    There's no pressure to work it out on your own.

  • No — and that's exactly how it should be.

    Our preview videos demonstrate the style, pacing and storytelling of each collection, but every funeral slideshow we create is personalised using your own photographs, music, memories and family stories.

    The previews are there to give you a sense of how each collection feels. Your finished slideshow will be created around the person you're remembering.

  • Possibly, depending on how far production has progressed and the time available before the service.

    If you decide you'd like to include more photographs, storytelling or personal details, please let us know as soon as possible.

    Where time and production progress allow, we'll discuss whether moving to another collection is possible and any difference in price.

    If you're unsure which collection to choose from the beginning, we're happy to help before production starts.Sometimes families begin with one collection and later decide they'd like to include more photographs, written memories or personal storytelling.

    Where work has not progressed too far, we'll happily discuss upgrading your collection.

  • Not necessarily.

    The right collection depends on the kind of tribute you'd like to create.

    Soft Drift suits families wanting something simple and elegant.
    Reflections adds more storytelling and written memories.
    Evermore offers the greatest level of personal storytelling and detail.

    Every collection is created with the same care and attention. The difference is how much you'd like to include in the tribute.

  • Reflections sits between the simplicity of Soft Drift and the deeper storytelling of Evermore.

    It includes up to 60 photographs, memory cards and written reflections, making it a good option for families who would like more of the story behind the photographs included in the tribute.

Photos & memories

  • Many families worry they don't have enough photographs, but you don't need hundreds of images to create something meaningful.

    As a guide:

    Soft Drift: up to 30 photographs
    Reflections: up to 60 photographs
    Evermore: up to 80 photographs

    You don't need to use the maximum number. A smaller collection of carefully chosen photographs can create an equally meaningful tribute.

    The most meaningful funeral slideshows aren't created by the number of photographs, but by the memories they represent.

  • No.

    You don't need to sort your photographs into folders, rename files or arrange them in date order before sending them.

    Simply choose the photographs you'd like us to consider and upload them with your tribute materials. We'll arrange them into a natural flow and let you know if we need any clarification.

    If there are particular photographs you definitely want included, simply let us know.

  • Absolutely. Older family photographs are often some of the most meaningful images in a tribute.

    Printed photographs can be scanned or photographed clearly with a smartphone before uploading.

    For the best results, use good natural light and try to avoid glare, reflections and shadows.

    If a special photograph is faded or damaged and needs additional restoration, we can discuss the available options with you.

  • Yes. Photographs from phones, digital cameras and other devices are perfectly fine.

    Simply upload the photographs you'd like included with your tribute materials. Where possible, send the original image rather than a compressed or reduced-quality copy.

  • That's completely okay.

    Older photographs are often faded, scratched or less sharp than modern images, and sometimes those imperfections are simply part of the memory.

    We'll present your photographs thoughtfully within the slideshow. If a special photograph needs additional restoration or enhancement, we'll discuss the available options with you before proceeding.

  • Absolutely. Family members can help gather photographs, memories, favourite sayings and music ideas for the tribute.

    Bringing together memories from different people can help create a richer picture of the person being remembered.

    We recommend having one family member gather the final selections before they are uploaded, so everything stays together and the process remains simple.

  • Please don't let that stop you from getting in touch.

    A meaningful funeral slideshow doesn't depend on having a large number of photographs.

    A smaller collection can be thoughtfully paced and, depending on the collection you choose, memories and written reflections can help tell more of their story.

  • A meaningful funeral slideshow can include a mix of photographs that reflect different parts of their life.

    You might include:

    • Childhood and younger years

    • Family celebrations

    • Weddings and anniversaries

    • Holidays and favourite places

    • Everyday moments at home

    • Time with children, grandchildren and friends

    • Hobbies, interests and achievements

    • Recent photographs that reflect who they were later in life

    You don't need to include every stage of their life. Choose the photographs that make you smile, bring back memories or immediately remind you of the person they were.

Don’t worry if your photographs aren’t perfect

The most meaningful funeral slideshows are created from genuine memories, not perfect pictures. If you're unsure what to include, we'll happily guide you.

Photo Selection Guide

Music

  • Absolutely.

    You can choose music that feels meaningful to the person you're remembering — perhaps a favourite artist, a special song, a hymn or an instrumental piece.

    Simply upload a suitable digital music file with your tribute materials. If you're unsure whether your file can be used, just ask.

  • TThat's completely okay.

    Think about the music they loved, songs connected to particular memories, or simply the feeling you'd like the tribute to have.

    If you're unsure, our Music Selection Guide includes questions to help you choose, along with song suggestions across a range of styles and moods.

  • The number of music selections included depends on your collection.

    Soft Drift: 1 music selection
    Reflections: 2 music selections
    Evermore: a music soundtrack created from your selected songs

    If you'd like to include additional music beyond what is included in your collection, an additional music selection can be added for $45.

  • No.

    We'll edit and arrange the music to work naturally with the flow and timing of your slideshow.

    Where appropriate, music may be faded or adjusted so that it begins and ends naturally within the tribute.

  • Absolutely.

    Your music can be religious, classical, contemporary, instrumental, cultural or traditional. What matters most is choosing music that feels meaningful and appropriate for the person you're remembering.

  • This is more common than you might think.

    Sometimes it helps to consider which songs were most closely connected to the person you're remembering, or whether different selections could represent different parts of their life.

    If you're finding it difficult to decide, we're happy to help you think through the options.

  • That's completely understandable.

    Music can bring back memories in a way few other things can. If choosing a song feels difficult, take your time.

    Sometimes the song that brings the strongest memories is also the one that feels most meaningful in the tribute.

  • You can choose music that is meaningful to your family, provided you have any permissions or licences required for its use.

    Drift & Flow does not supply or license commercial music.

    Copyright requirements can vary depending on the music and how the finished tribute will be played, shared or streamed. Please see our Music Selection Guide for further information.

  • Preferred music formats are:

    • MP3
    • WAV
    • unprotected M4A

    Music downloaded for offline listening through streaming subscriptions such as Spotify or Apple Music generally cannot be used as an audio file.

During production

  • Once we've received everything needed to begin, we'll carefully review your photographs, music and the information you've shared.

    We'll then begin creating your funeral slideshow, thoughtfully arranging your images, music and memories into a tribute that reflects the person you're remembering.

    If we need clarification about anything during production, we'll contact you before moving forward.

  • Yes.

    Every funeral slideshow includes a preview before final delivery.

    This gives you the opportunity to carefully watch the slideshow, check the photographs, dates and written content, and make sure everything feels right before the final version is prepared.

    We encourage you to review the preview carefully and submit any requested changes together as one revision round.

  • Absolutely.

    Each collection includes:

    Soft Drift - 1 revision round
    Reflections - 1 revision round
    Evermore - 2 revision rounds

    A revision round is one opportunity to review your preview and provide a complete list of requested minor changes.

    Minor revisions may include replacing photographs, correcting dates or updating written wording. Changes that substantially alter the structure, length or creative direction of the slideshow may be considered additional work and incur an additional charge.

    We'll always discuss this with you before any additional work begins.

  • This can happen, so please let us know as soon as possible.

    If production is still in its early stages, we may be able to include an additional photograph or memory, provided it fits within your chosen collection.

    Once your preview has been created, new photographs or content will generally need to be included as part of your revision round. Significant additions that require the slideshow to be restructured may incur an additional charge.

    We'll always let you know before any additional work is undertaken.

  • If we notice missing information, duplicate photographs, missing music or anything else that may affect your funeral slideshow, we'll contact you before finalising the project.

  • Minor revisions may include replacing photographs, correcting dates or updating written wording.

    Please provide your requested changes together as one complete list. This is considered one revision round.

    Requests that substantially alter the structure, length or creative direction of the slideshow may be considered additional work and may incur an additional charge. We'll always discuss this with you before proceeding.

Delivery

  • Yes, if you'd like us to.

    Simply let us know during your project and provide your funeral director's or celebrant's contact details. We'll send the approved final slideshow directly to them on your behalf.

    We recommend confirming with the funeral director or celebrant before the service that they have received the file and that it has been successfully tested on the venue's audiovisual system.

  • Our goal is to deliver your completed funeral slideshow before the service, allowing time for your included review and revisions.

    To achieve this, photographs, music and requested information need to be provided by the agreed deadlines.

    If materials are received late, there may not be enough time to complete all stages before the service. If this happens, we'll let you know what is possible within the time remaining.

    We encourage families to get in touch as early as possible.

  • Your completed slideshow will be supplied as a high-quality MP4 video file, compatible with most modern audiovisual systems.

    If your funeral director or venue has specific technical requirements, please let us know as early as possible.

  • Yes.

    We strongly recommend downloading your final slideshow and watching it from beginning to end before the funeral service.

    If the slideshow will be played by a funeral home, celebrant or venue, please also confirm that they have received the file and successfully tested it on the system that will be used on the day.

    This helps identify any playback or compatibility issues before the service.

  • Your client portal and download links will remain available for 60 days after final delivery.

    During this time, you can access and download your completed slideshow and any project materials made available through your portal.

    After 60 days, the client portal will be unpublished and project files may no longer be available.

    We recommend downloading your final slideshow and storing your own backup copy before the 60-day period ends.

  • We recommend downloading and securely backing up your slideshow as soon as you receive it.

    We may be able to assist while your client portal is still active, but we cannot guarantee that project files will be retained after the 60-day access period.

    We recommend keeping backup copies in more than one location, such as your computer, an external drive or secure cloud storage.

  • Absolutely.

    Your completed funeral slideshow is yours to keep and can be watched and shared with family and friends long after the service.

    Many families revisit their tribute on birthdays, anniversaries and other meaningful occasions as a way of remembering and celebrating the person they love.

    Optional add-ons are available if you need them, including:

    • Priority Delivery - from $125

    Add-ons are completely optional. Any additional costs will always be discussed with you before proceeding.

  • Payment is required upfront before production begins.

    Once we've confirmed that we're able to take on your tribute, we'll send you an invoice with payment instructions.

    Your booking is confirmed once payment has been received and cleared. Production will then be scheduled to begin in accordance with the agreed timeframe.

  • Payment is currently accepted by bank transfer.

    Payment details will be provided on your invoice. Your booking is confirmed and production can begin once payment has been received and cleared.

  • As each funeral slideshow is individually created and time-sensitive, cancellations and refunds are handled in accordance with our Terms & Conditions and Payments, Refunds & Cancellations Policy.

    If you need to cancel, please contact us as soon as possible. We'll explain what applies based on the stage your project has reached.

  • Every Drift & Flow funeral slideshow is individually created using your photographs, music, memories and personal details.

    Creating the finished tribute involves much more than placing photographs into a slideshow. Careful attention is given to sequencing, pacing, music, written content and the overall flow of the tribute.

    The result is a professionally created slideshow that feels personal to the person being remembered and is ready to be shared at their service.
